Research Study: Supervised Consumption Services – Take Part for £40 voucher
Research is being conducted at King’s College London, focusing on the evolving role of community pharmacies in Opioid Agonist Treatment (OAT) and harm reduction (HR) services in England. The primary aim of this research is to construct an accurate and up-to-date picture of the current practices surrounding the dispensing of OAT, including supervised consumption services, in community pharmacies.
A similar national survey was conducted for the Department of Health in 2005. The findings of that survey contributed to a review of OAT dispensing practices and led to important changes in professional practice. The 2025 survey will offer the opportunity to assess how dispensing practices have evolved over the past decade, thus helping to shape future policy and practice in this field.
Your participation is vital to the success of this research. By completing this survey, you will provide valuable insights that will inform future policy decisions and the development of best practices within this area. Please note that even if your pharmacy does not currently dispense to people who use drugs, it is still essential that we receive your completed survey.
The survey has been piloted and is estimated to take approximately 15 minutes to complete. We kindly ask that you complete the survey by 31st January 2025.
