LFD Service
The Lateral flow device tests supply service for patients potentially eligible for COVID-19 treatments (LFD service) was commissioned as an Advanced service from 6th November 2023.

From April 2024 there are a number of new eligible patient groups have been added to the service. This includes:
- People aged 85 years and over;
- People with end-stage heart failure who have a long-term ventricular assistance device;
- People on the organ transplant waiting list;
- People aged 70 years and over, or who have a BMI of 35 kg/m2 or more, diabetes or heart failure, and are resident in a care home; OR Are already hospitalised
- To support you CPE have produced a factsheet detailing the eligible patient groups for this service.

Sign up to provide service
Pharmacy owners must notify NHS England that they intend to provide the service by completion of an electronic registration through the NHS Business Services Authority’s (NHSBSA) Manage Your Service (MYS) application.
