Supporting asylum seekers

We have been made aware that there is a large amount of asylum seekers arriving into the Stockport area. There are also refugees and people seeking asylum in other localities across Greater Manchester.

To help you to support them, CPGM have developed some guidance which provides you with:

  • Information around common health challenges they may face
  • Details about how they can collect prescriptions
  • Contact information for other organisations that can provide support
  • Advice around safeguarding
  • Information about how to tackle language barriers

Sexual assault and sexual abuse information for people seeking asylum

A new information booklet for asylum seekers, dealing with the subject of sexual assault or abuse, is now available.

It provides important information from the NHS on legal rights and how to access help for past or current sexual abuse, or assault.

The booklet is available in Arabic, Albanian, English, Farsi, Kurdish and Pashto and copies can be found on the Migrant Help website.
