Original Pack Dispensing (OPD)
Original Pack Dispensing (OPD) with +/-10% flexibility was introduced for NHS prescriptions in January 2025.
Amendments to the pharmacy regulations now require the supervising pharmacist to consider dispensing up to 10% more or less than the prescribed quantity when appropriate, allowing pharmacists the flexibility to supply medicines in the manufacturer’s original pack.
