Stroke and TIA: New Resources for Community Pharmacy

Could you recognise the signs of a stroke or Transient Ischaemic Attack (TIA)?

Community pharmacy teams are often the first healthcare professionals that patients turn to for advice. Recognising the signs and symptoms of stroke or TIA and responding quickly can make a significant difference to patient outcomes.

A new Stroke and TIA toolkit and e-learning package has been developed specifically for community pharmacy teams to increase confidence in identifying potential stroke symptoms, understanding when urgent action is needed, and ensuring patients are directed to the right care without delay.

• Practical tips to better support patients with hidden disabilities, including those with cognitive and communication needs.

• E-learning that can help build confidence in recognising stroke and TIA symptoms and understanding the importance of rapid referral.
