We reviewed the information provided by all the candidates and selected the most suitable person based on the quality of their application, as outlined in Section 15 of the constitution.
The successful candidate representing independent contractors is: Ali Dalal (Formans Chemist, Prestwich). He replaces Adam Williams.
As per the LPC constitution, we organised an election to establish a new Committee From 1st April 2021.
To ensure fair representation for all GM contractors, the current Committee voted to increase the total number of member seats from 11 to 12 on 25th January 2021. We then revised the number of places available for each pharmacy representative group. After collecting all CCA and AIMp appointments and putting independent nominees to an independent contractor vote our committee was formed as follows:
Independent elected candidates (entitled to 5 places based on the 41.96% of independent pharmacies in the area)
- Aneet Kapoor, Adam Williams, Fin McCaul, Mohammed Anwar and Mohamed Patel
Appointed CCA representatives (entitled to 5 places based on the 42.78% of CCA pharmacies in the area)
- Ifti Khan, Jennie Watson, Helen Smith, Mubasher Ali and Mujahid Al-amin
Appointed AIMp representatives (entitled to 2 places based on the 15.26% of AIM pharmacies in the area)
- Peter Marks and Gulam Arsiwalla
We received several queries relating to our election and the governance and assurance process regarding the commissioning of Community Pharmacy COVID-19 designated vaccination sites. In response to this we published a letter to contractors.
99% of contractors voted in favour of our proposal to defer the election by 6 months. Our elections took place in early 2021 with the new committee in post by 1st April 2021.
