COVID-19 Updates
GMLPC is working with Stockport Borough Council who are “happy for pharmacies to use their professional judgement on how they provide emergency hormonal contraception; providing they take steps to minimise patient risk and are mindful of potential for abuse with due regard to safeguarding. Any provision and use of professional judgement must give due consideration to the latest advice / guidance. In the current situation we are supportive of pharmacies doing telephone / video consultations where appropriate and prescriptions then being picked up by the person / their representative or delivered to their address depending on the individual’s circumstances.” |

This service now supersedes the Minor Eye Condition Service (MECS) The CUES is an extended version of the MECS service which allows remote consultation and uses IT capability to provide a digital service. In some areas, an Independent prescriber may be used to prescribe medicines for the patient. For further details please refer to the service summary, available here Where a medicine is required, this will normally be supplied or prescribed by the optometrist, as part of the consultation, through the issue of an NHS CUES written order. The written order is signed by the prescriber. This will be supplied by a community pharmacy of the patient’s choice. You should only receive NHS CUES written orders from patients registered with a GP from one of the areas above (previously MECS areas). For further information click here |
